3. WORSE OFF: over, thinking

It's the middle of summer, not too hot, not too cold. I don't smoke but I have cigarettes rolled up in my white V-neck.  I'm driving a convertible, with the top down. I don't typically drive fast but I'm going 80 down a western road, surrounded by red stones and tan landscapes. WORSE OFF's new LP plays on the stereo. I turn it up all the way to overcome the sound of the wind and the thoughts in my head. This LP is just what I need right now. When they speed up, I push the gas a little harder, when they slow down and let the songs open up, I relax a bit and take it in. I feel good, even with the bleak, yet relatable lyrics. I sing along as a turbine farm approaches. There's something about a turbine farm that I just love. There's something about WORSE OFF, too. I'm definitely better off in this moment, because of them. Even though I'm in the driver's seat, I try to pick out the harmonies and sing those instead of the lead, forgetting about all my petty little problems. I bet you're wondering where I got this car. It doesn't matter, nothing matters right now except the next chorus and the turbine farm, now in my rearview. I'm over, thinking after all and in this moment WORSE OFF takes me to a better place. Don't take my word for it though. Hear it for yourself here.
